“Eat an apple a day to keeps the doctor away”

Who doesn’t remember the saying
“Eat an apple a day to keep the doctor away”?

Well there is a lot of truth in it.
See the health benefits of apples.

• Apples are a rich source of flavonoid and polyphenols both are powerful antioxidant.
• Study shown that by eating 100g of apple can give an antioxidant effect that equal to taking about 1,500mg of vitamin C.
• Apples are a good source for minerals and vitamins that can strengthen the blood.
• Apples contain malic acid and tartaric acid that can help prevent disturbances of the liver and digestion.
• The skin of Apples contains pectin that can help remove toxic substances from the system by supplying galacturonic acid.
Pectin helps prevent protein matter in the intestine from spoiling.
• Eating an apple daily can lower cholesterol and reduce skin diseases.
• You'll get about 4 grams of dietary fiber in a medium-sized, 5-ounce apple, or about 15% of the Daily Value (DV) for fiber. Studies have shown that fiber can help keep your LDL cholesterol levels under control, and if you have LDL cholesterol levels that are too high, can help lower them.

And then what about Cucumbers?
Did you know that cucumbers are considered a fruit and not a vegetable?

Some of the many health benefits of cucumbers include:

• their high water content (about 95 percent)
• their fiber-rich skin
• their levels of potassium and manganese, which help regulate blood pressure and help promote nutrient functions.

The combination of these 2 healthy fruits gives you a wonderful nutritional shake.

Ok let’s get to it.

- pour 175 ml apple juice (pure and unsweetened) in a blender
- add 50ml natural yogurt
- cut ¼ of a cucumber (with skin) and add to the blender
- add 1 apple (do not remove the skin)
- add 2 spoons of F1 Vanilla
- And add 1 or 2 spoons of the F3 (as per plan you are on)

Mix it all up and enjoy.

Have a Healthy Life.
Meera.
